“And the Lord said to Moses, ‘I will also do the thing of which you have spoken; for you have found favor in my sight, and I have known you by name.’” Ex. 33:17 (NAS)
The great passion and prayer of Moses was to know God’s ways and avoid going anywhere without God. Moses discovered that the sign of God’s favor was God’s presence. So he asked God to be with him wherever he went. The Lord heard his request and promised to be with Moses.
Today, because of Jesus, you can have the same favor from God that Moses enjoyed. God actually likes you, wants to be with you, and you can experience God’s presence wherever you go. And just as He did with Moses, God knows you by name.
In our impersonal, nameless society, it’s exciting to know that there’s One who likes you, wants to be with you and knows you by name. And that’s something to tell the whole world about.
“To him (Jesus) the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out.” John 10:3
