Our teeth play a vital role in our mouth. It is responsible in tearing, scraping and chewing of the food that we eat every day. Therefore it is very important to keep your teeth healthy. Here are some ways that you can practice to keep your teeth healthy.
1. Brush your teeth regularly. The very basic thing to keep your teeth healthy is to brush your teeth 3 times a day that means every after meal. It would also help if you can also use some fluoride products to help prevent cavities on your teeth. Make sure that you toothbrush has soft bristle so it won’t damage your enamel layer.
2. Floss your teeth regularly. This is an effective ways in getting rid of food particles from the gaps and surface of your teeth. This will also help prevent tooth decay.
3. Use fluoride rinse method. This will help prevent tooth decay and strengthen the outer enamel of your teeth. There is stannous fluoride dental rinse that would help increase the hypersensitivity of the dentin layers.
4. If possible, avoid soda and cola like drinks. These beverages contain acid such as citric acid phosphoric acid which slowly react with teeth and dissolve them. This will actually give corrosive effect on your teeth. Milk, water and juices are best substitute for soft drinks.
5. Avoid smoking and chewing of tobacco. This is one of the major causes of tooth and oral damage. Tobacco powder causes stains on teeth and as well as weakens them. Chewing of tobacco leads to discoloration of teeth would sometimes be the cause of oral cancer.
6. Avoid chewing sweet gums. This will actually increase sugar contents and attract micro-organism into the teeth which is responsible for tooth decay.
7. Avoid drinking alcohol. Drinking too much alcohol can cause gum, tongue and oral tissue irritation, increase tooth decay and increase risk towards periodontal (gum) disease.
8. Have healthy diet consumption. Eating healthy foods and having proper diet not only helps in maintaining fitness and having a perfect body, it also helps in maintaining oral structure.
9. Visit your dentist twice a year. Have an oral check up with your dentist twice a year to check your teeth and oral structure. Making sure that they are all good.
